Play Date!

I will start with the best part of our day...our play date! Today at noon we went to Towson Town Center to meet one of my online friends and her daughter. We have been trying to meet up for a while and finally were able to. The boys and Noelle ran around with all of the other kids and seemed to have a good time. Afterwards we all went and ate in the food court. Nia & I hope to meet up more with the kids to let them socialize and also so we can have some time to talk in person and not just on the computer.

This morning I took Ryder to get his blood work done and it was a horrible experience. As soon as we walked in the door he started to cry and ran to the door trying to get it open. Luckily we didn't have to wait too long before getting called into the back, but Ryder put on the brakes and dropped to the floor crying so I had to carry him. He fought so hard to not get the blood work done so another nurse had to come help hold him still. They were not able to get a good amount of blood, but they will send it in and see if it is enough for all of the tests he needs. If it isn't then we will need to go back, but they didn't want to stick him again because he was so worked up. After they took the needle out and put the bandage on he looked at the nurse, put his arms up and said "HELP!". So she picked him up while I got up and got my purse. But he wouldn't come to me, he wanted to stay with the nurse! Finally he came to me, but was crying and not happy. I felt so bad.

While playing in the living room today the boys went into the laundry basket and decided to try and dress themselves. Ben was not amused with their choices because they both grabbed my bra at first, but then Zak found some real clothes.

I wanted to also post these 2 random pictures of Zak walking around eating a tomato....

Question of the Week

This week's question from Multiples & More is:

What is your favorite children's book of all time?

This is a pretty difficult question because I have lots of favorite children's books! I will have to cheat and list a couple of books...

The Giving Tree
Goodnight Moon

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Where the Wild Things Are

Curious George
I also pretty much love anything written by Shel Silverstein and Dr. Suess.

Sugar High

This morning Ben and Zak took the white truck back to Rich since we no longer need it. Rich gave them a ride home and also helped Ben bring the TV into the house that we got from Rich & Laura. Apparently during the ride back home Zak got into a bag of candy which was next to him and had a few lollipops and tootsie rolls. Well, when it was nap time Zak was having a MAJOR sugar high! We heard running around and banging in their room so I went upstairs to put them back in bed, but I found Ryder was asleep and all of the noise was coming from Zak. Then I noticed the milk all over the room. I decided to take Zak out of the bedroom so that he wouldn't wake up Ryder because he was being really loud.

We then went to WalMart and Target to look for a set of suitcases along with pricing out dehumidifiers. The reason we need new suitcases is because our old ones are now covered in mold because of how wet our basement gets so we want to get a dehumidifier. We have dome some research and found that they are in the of about $200 or so for a good one to use in a very wet basement so we will probably be getting one soon. After we got home and had dinner (stuffed peppers in the crock pot) the boys wanted to go outside and play (sorry for the blurry pictures, but that is what happens when your aiming at moving targets)...

Family Game Night

Tonight we got the Wii Fit out to play with. Ben and I both played on it for a bit and then the boys wanted to have a turn. They were so funny to watch!

Definitely My Children

Tonight at dinner there was no denying that these boys are my children! We didn't have anything planned for dinner so we just pulled somethings out of the fridge for the boys. Ben heated up some peas for them and we were going to give them some sausage once it was done cooking. Zak had enough of the peas and gave the rest to his brother and demanded something else to eat. We offered him a pickle, but then decided to see if he would eat an olive. Well, they both ended up liking olives. As a joke we pulled out the diced red onions to see if they would eat a piece....well they both loved them! Both demanded more onions every time their plate was empty. So for dinner tonight they had peas, olives, and red onions!

The reason we had nothing planned out or ready for dinner is because we needed to make an unexpected trip to Target. Today Zak discovered how to open the fridge and randomly bring food (eggs, milk, pickles) to me so we needed to get a lock for it.

Naked Pool Time

My boys LOVE to be naked! A few times we have let them run around the house without any clothes or diapers on, but after a few accidents I try to minimize the amount of naked time they have inside. Today Ben filled up the pool with some water and we let them play naked for a while. It always baffles me how some people think they look a lot alike because to me they look nothing alike, but maybe its just because I see their personalities which are so different...

Of course Robin had to join in the water fun. She is a true lab and loves the water. She is so funny to watch when she gets into the baby pool and tries to swim! The boys also love to splash her.
Before nap time Zak had a dirty diaper so I was able to get his stool samples and put them into the little tubes the lab gave me. After he got up I took him to drop off the samples and get his blood work done. He is so strong! Each time we have had to get blood work done he struggles more and more. It is so hard having to hold him while they do it because he gets so upset. This time a second nurse had to hold his arm straight and he decided to hold his breath and turn purple until the needle came out of his arm. The nurses were so good with him and he was happy and talking to them as soon as the needle was gone. They gave him lots of stickers afterwards which he shared with Ryder when we got home.
I have to do it all over again with Ryder...

Our Day

This morning we went to Goodwill looking for an entertainment center because our big TV in the living room is acting up and Laura has a spare TV that she has offered to us. While there we found some more Barney movies for the boys, Ben got a few books, and we got a small suitcase on wheels for the boys.

Afterwards we went to the playground for a bit to let the boys run around and get some energy out since it wasn't extremely hot out.

When we got home Ryder helped Ben bring the trashcans inside.
This afternoon Zak really surprised us! He and Ryder were playing and all of a sudden he ran up to me grabbing at his diaper saying "pee pee" and was very upset. I started to lay him down to change his diaper and he got really mad at me. So I asked him if he wanted to go sit on the potty and he started walking up the stairs. I went into the bathroom with him, took off his dry diaper and he sat on the potty. Almost immediately he peed on the potty! He was so proud of himself. We have not started to potty train yet, but if he continues to do this it might be time to start with him....

Random Stuff

I have been meaning to take a picture of the caricature we had done of the boys at Lura's company party so finally I got around to it...

it says, Hey you look like me! and No, you look like me
The artist thought they were identical other than their hair color

Today for lunch the boys had leftover pizza and enjoyed it

They were passing stuff to each other through the umbrella hole

They have started something new that Ben is not too fond of, but oh well. They love to cuddle with these blankets. But they have also started to bring the blankets to us and say "I baby" over and over. This means they want us to wrap them in the blanket and hold them like babies. I think it is cute, but Ben does not. It has gotten bad at bedtime because they both HAVE to get their turn as a baby right before I lay them in their beds.

Here Ryder is asking for help (I help is what he is saying)
